“This year and in the following years, rice remains Vietnam's main export to the Philippines alongside other agricultural products such as coffee and cashew nuts,” said Thanh, adding, “Seafood, phone and electronic components, textiles, machinery, equipment, spare parts, footwear, cement, and chemicals will also have great prospects to penetrate into this market.”

The Vietnamese Government continues to develop policies, set orientations, promote trade relations, and open markets for export products of the two countries, especially agricultural and aquatic products.

Businesses and business associations are urged to continue to survey market demand and consumer tastes to outline effective policies to promote Vietnamese exports to the market.

Last year, two-way trade between Vietnam and the Philippines exceeded 8 billion USD.
