With the theme "Joining Hands for a Clean Environment,” the event was organized to heighten awareness on the part of the business community and the public of responsible environmental practices, focusing on preserving natural ecosystems, especially the marine environment. The aim is to combat pollution and safeguard the marine environment from degradation.

Vietnam, as an active and responsible member of the international community, is committed to achieving net zero emissions, and is actively collaborating with international partners, including the EU and its members, to work toward this goal.

Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Foreign Minister, said: "The EU and its member countries have actively supported Vietnam in this field through development cooperation projects on climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, forest protection, and waste treatment, among others. At the 4th meeting of the Vietnam-EU Joint Committee on delivering the Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement in October 2023, the two sides agreed to prioritize cooperation in biodiversity conservation and marine plastic waste treatment.”

EU Ambassador to Vietnam Julien Guerrier said: "Vietnam has demonstrated its commitment to achieve a green, circular economy and is strongly committed to the Paris Agreement with its National Climate Change Strategy, National Green Growth Strategy, and Biodiversity Strategy. Let's all work together to return Vietnam's green and blue hues to their former glory and enjoy working together in this beautiful environment."
