(VOVworld) – Australian and US experts will work with the Anh Duong Sao company to examine the first litchi shipments at a radiation factory on May 30 before exporting to Australia and the US.
Hoang Trung, Deputy Head of the Plant Protection Department, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that this contract will motivate Vietnamese farmers to apply higher production standards.
Meeting the plant quarantine and food safety expectations of these two markets will create opportunities for Vietnamese farm products to enter other markets. Hoang Trung said: “Vietnam has thoroughly understood the plant quarantine requirements of the US and Australia. Functional agencies will instruct localities and farmers to apply standard production to meet the technical requirements of importers. Being accepted into the US market is an advantage for Vietnamese litchi to enter other markets.”
Currently, there are four Vietnamese companies joining the litchi business to export to the United States and Australia while many others export the fruit to the European Union and China.
