(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese government recently issued a resolution which includes a GDP growth target of 6.5 percent with GDP per capita of about 3,700 USD this year.
Under the resolution on key measures to implement the 2021 socio-economic development plan and State budget, the Government will take drastic actions to realize the 2021-2025 socio-economic development plan. Its motto for 2021 is “unity, discipline, reform, creativity, and development aspirations.”
The Government will flexibly and effectively pursue the dual goal of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and developing the economy; while improving Vietnam’s socialist-oriented market economy institutions, transportation, energy, urban development, climate change response, and digital infrastructure.
While ensuring national security, the Government will boost diplomacy and global integration; safeguard independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, promote peace and stability to enable rapid, sustainable growth, and elevate Vietnam’s international status.
