(VOVworld) – A number of activities nationwide were held this week to mark Vietnam Family Day on June 28. Earlier, Ho Chi Minh City initiated a writing contest with the topic being “mothers and the woman’s role in families” as well as a seminar on preventing child sex abuse. Da Nang City held a get-together to discuss the traditional Vietnamese family. In Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also held a ceremony to mark the event. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho Anh Tuan addressed the ceremony: “We should campaign to stamp out domestic violence and educate people on familial behavior, and improve family relationships. This year’s Vietnam Family Day is focusing on building thriving Vietnamese families and amiable safe homes for each person, and a healthy society”.
