(VOVWORLD) - 180 film entries, the most ever, were submitted to the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival, which will take place in the resort city of Da Lat from November 21-25.

The organizing board says the 91 best entries, including feature films, documentaries, science films, and animations, have been chosen to vie for the Lotus Awards.
Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and head of the festival’s Steering Committee, said, "Da Lat is a large film studio. Its people, nature, and poetic landscapes of mountains, waterfalls, pine hills, and Xuan Huong Lake are unique in Vietnam. These are advantages for filmmakers.”
There will be sideline activities such as an exhibition called "Da Lat - inspiring cinema", seminars on film copyright protection and other issues affecting Vietnam's film industry, and exchanges between artists and audiences.
