The top five male candidates for the Vietnamese Golden Ball Awards 2021 are Nguyen Hoang Duc, Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Nguyen Tien Linh and Que Ngoc Hai. Viettel's striker Hoang Duc has the highest recognition and was the only Vietnamese footballer in the list of top 11 best players in the AFF Cup 2020 selected by ESPN.

In female category, Striker Huynh Nhu is likely to win the Golden Ball thanks to her contribution to her club and the national squad.

In futsal, Ho Van Y was highly praised for his effort in making the national squad to the World Cub qualifier round.

The award ceremony is to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on February 16.
