(VOVworld) - As part of his visit to Russia, Vietnamese Defence Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich had a bilateral meeting with his Lao counterpart Senior Lieutenant General Chansamone Channhalat on Monday.

Lich called for both countries to step up border exchanges and cooperation in Party and political work, personnel training, and communications activities for the two peoples and armies on the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

He said the Vietnamese Party, people, and army will stand side by side with the Party, people and army of Laos in any circumstance.

Chansamone Channhalat said Laos is ready to aid Vietnam in repatriating remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the country during war.
