(VOVWORLD) - China's Taiwan Bureau of Foreign Trade reports that Taiwan imported about 22,000 tons of tea from 32 partners worldwide in the first 8 months of this year.

53% was imported from Vietnam, making it the top tea exporter to Taiwan. The total export volume cost 18.55 million USD or equivalent to 30.6% of Taiwan’s tea import revenue. Vietnamese tea exported to Taiwan increased nearly 10% in quantity and 9% in value compared to the previous year.
The Bureau said tea imported from Vietnam is mainly used in tea-based food production such as milk tea and cakes.
