(VOVworld) - Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt and Palestine Do Hoang Long submitted a credential letter to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who visited Egypt on May 8-9. Mr. Long informed President Abbas of Vietnam’s achievements in socio-economic development and its plans for future development, and affirmed Vietnam’s support for the Palestinian people.

He said Vietnam is pursuing a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, and diversification and multilateralisation of relations. He also mentioned East Sea issues, which are attracting growing concern in the international community.
President Abbas expressed his wish to promote friendly relations with Vietnam. Both sides said they support the settlement of disputes via peaceful means in line with international law.
