(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held on Saturday in Ho Chi Minh city to mark the 67^th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19), the 53^rd anniversary of the National Liberation Front for South Vietnam (December 20), and the 69^th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 24^th All-people National Defense Festival (December 22).

The attendants recalled the glorious history of national struggles for independence and reunification. Pham Van Hai, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Ho Chi Minh city’s branch, says: “It is necessary to uphold and successfully implement revolutionary and patriotic emulation movements. Efforts should be made to consolidate the national unity and social consensus, while mobilizing all resources for building the city, maintaining political stability and reinforcing the all-people defense. We should be vigilant and determined to foil any attempts of “peaceful evolution” and to build Ho Chi Minh city worthy of its name after the great leader and its hero title”.
