(VOVworld)-Major newspapers in Vietnam on Saturday carried news stories celebrating the 68th anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army on December 22. The People’s Army newspaper editorily praised the people’s army’s loyalty to the Party, the Nation and people and readiness to fight for national independence and freedom. The people’s army originated from the people and was born with the spirit of serving the people. Its strength is nurtured by the talented and bright leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh as well as the sponsorship of the people.

Vietnam People’s Army marks its 68th anniversary

The People’s daily newspaper praised the army’s role in national defense and securing independence and freedom as well as national sovereignty and territorial integrity, Party, State and people and achievements of the revolution and socialist regime. The armed force has actively participated in socio economic development, poverty reduction and rescue efforts.

The Liberated Sai Gon highlighted the army’s nature of remaining loyal to the Party and willingness to serve the public. Since its foundation with 34 soldiers and simple ammunition, under the organization of President Ho Chi Minh and the Party’s leadership, the armed force has developed its strength and winning continuous victories.

Many activities take place nationwide to mark the event. Hanoi has hosted an art performance and exchanges with veterans who participated during the 12 days and nights of Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air.
