(VOVworld) – Activities marking the 70th anniversary of the Vietnamese People’s Police Force and 10 years of Vietnam’s All People’s National Defense Day have been held in a number of countries.

At a ceremony on Wednesday, Vietnamese ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh praised Vietnam’s Police Force’s greater involvement in regional and global organizations. Vietnam has established security and law enforcement cooperation with 55 countries and territories and has joined 22 regional and global organizations and forums. A similar ceremony was held the same day by the Vietnamese embassy and the representative office of Vietnam’s Police in Malaysia. Ambassador Pham Cao Phong said cooperation between Vietnam’s Public Security Ministry and Malaysia’s Ministry of Home Affairs has developed steadily in line with the two countries’ recent joint statement on their strategic partnership. Vietnam and Malaysia are completing procedures towards signing a memorandum of understanding on the prevention of trans-national crime and a bilateral agreement on the prevention of human trafficking.

The Vietnamese embassies in the Republic of Korea and Cuba also held activities to mark this occasion.
