Vietnam praises political, security progress in Libya
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam values any progress in Libya’s political and security situation, said Ambassador Pham Hai Anh, Vietnam’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN on Thursday at the UN Security Council’s online meeting on Libya.

Mr. Anh reaffirmed Vietnam’s support for a comprehensive people-led political solution that respects Libya’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He called on all parties to honor the ceasefire agreement, quickly establish a temporary government, begin a transition period to an election, and support a sustainable peace.
Ambassador Anh said he supports allowing the UN Support Mission in Libya to take part in monitoring the Long-Term Ceasefire Agreement. He praised the Support Mission, the Acting Special Representative, neighboring countries, regional organizations, and other actors for promoting the peace process in Libya.
