Vietnam protests China’s pilot flight to Fiery Cross Reef
(VOVworld) – Vietnam protests China’s pilot flight to the airport that it illegally built on the Fiery Cross Reef, part of Vietnam’s Truong Sa archipelago.

Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Le Hai Binh said: “China’s action seriously violates Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa archipelago and goes against the common perceptions of both countries’ leaders, agreement on basic regulations on settling sea-related issues between Vietnam and China and spirit of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea in 2002. The move also affects peace, stability in the East Sea and left negative impact to the relations between Vietnam and China.
Vietnam protests the move and asks China to stop its action and take practical activities to maintain peace, stability and assure aviation and marine freedom and safety in the East Sea.
On the same day, representative of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs met representative of Chinese embassy in Vietnam to send the diplomatic note to protest China’s action.
