Vietnam requests Philippines to ensure safety of Vietnamese citizens
(VOVWORLD) -Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang Wednesday revealed that the Philippines military launched attacks on terrorist group Abu Sayyaf in Tolu (Sulu) and recovered bodies which included a Vietnamese citizen named Tran Viet Van.

Hang said the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines is coordinating with relevant agencies at home and in the host country to complete forensic and legal procedures as well as support the wish of the victim’s family to return his remains home.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Chargé d' affaires of the Embassy of the Philippines in Vietnam on Tuesday, asking the Philippines to quickly address the problem and ensure safety for Vietnamese citizens captured in the country.
