Vietnam respects its special relations with Laos
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh
(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on Monday met with Lao Deputy Foreign Minister Alounkeo Kittikhoun, who is in Vietnam to co-chair the 1
st Political Consultation meeting at the deputy foreign ministerial level between the two Foreign Ministries.
Mr. Minh said Vietnam respects and gives the top priority to enhancing Vietnam-Lao special friendship and comprehensive cooperation.
He spoke highly of the result of the meeting and asked the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs to actively implement a cooperative agreement signed last December.
Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung and his Lao counterpart co-chaired the 1st Political Consultation meeting between the two Foreign Ministries. Both sides reached consensus on the implementation of a cooperative agreement until 2020 and preparation for the 2nd consultative meeting between Deputy Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers late this year in Hanoi.
