Vietnam, Singapore vow to promote strategic partnership
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam attaches great importance to developing its strategic partnership with Singapore. National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan made the statement while meeting her Singaporean counterpart Tan Chuan Gin at the Parliament of Singapore on Tuesday.

Vietnam fully supports Singapore to fulfill its role as ASEAN Chair next year, said Ms. Ngan, calling on Singapore to accelerate coordination and communications with other ASEAN countries to promote the bloc’s unity and central role in the region.
She urged Singapore to continue raising its voice in the East Sea issue as ASEAN Chair and push for the finalization of the Code of Conduct in the East Sea and develop a sustainable and healthy ASEAN-China partnership.
Ms. Ngan said Vietnam encourages Singapore to further invest in essential areas, including infrastructure, waste and water management, environmental protection, renewable energy, and smart grids. She suggested Singapore supports Vietnam’s efforts in capacity building for educators and teachers of English, as well as in implementing a thorough reform of Vietnam’s educational system.
Later on Tuesday, Ms. Ngan and the high-ranking Vietnamese National Assembly delegation left Singapore for an official visit to Australia.
