(VOVworld) – Vietnam will strive to achieve 76 gold medals to finish in the top 3 at the upcoming 27th Southeast Asian Games (Sea Games 27). The figures were announced by Lam Quang Thanh, Head of the Vietnamese delegation, at a press conference on Thursday after coming back from a preparatory meeting in Myanmar.

Sea Games 27, drawing 11 sports delegations, will take place between December 1^st and 22^nd in Myanmar. Vietnam is expected to send more than 500 athletes to compete in 29 out of 33 events. Despite the target of 76 gold medals, Thanh said it would still be a success if Vietnamese competitors could bring home 70 gold medals.
