According to the newspaper, the COVID-19 pandemic is under control in Vietnam, whose economic growth is forecast to advance much faster than that of its neighbors. Vietnam is emerging as an attractive investment destination, partly thanks to the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
The Sunday Times also reported that while regional airlines have been flung into crisis, Vietnam’s 5th airlines operated its very first flight in December, 2020. The Party has won public acclaim for its anti-corruption efforts, it added.
The Sunday Times quoted Dr. Le Thai Ha of the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management as saying that Vietnam has a strong position with less public debt, increased foreign reserves, and a favorable start-up environment.
