(VOVworld)-Tra fish (pangasius) producers are expected to earn 1.6 billion USD from exports in 2016, a year-on-year increase of 6.6 percent. The figure was announced at a recent conference in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang to review tra fish production and consumption and seek measures for the sector’s sustainable development.

Vietnam has so far this year shipped tra fish products to 140 markets around the world, earning over 1.4 billion USD. The main markets are the US, the EU, China, ASEAN, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Saudi Arabia. In 2017, the sector is expected to earn over 1.7 billion USD from exports, up 10 percent from 2016.
