(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is holding a national online conference on health insurance for all people on Friday/today. Participating in the conference are Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, ministers, and leaders of sectors and 63 provinces.

Mr. Phuc appreciated the ministries and sectors’ determination to have 90% of the population holding health insurance cards by 2020. He affirmed that health insurance is compulsory and the right and obligation of all people. The Vietnam Social Insurance Agency is assigned to propose to the government policies and measures to increase the number of health insurance holders.
Mr. Phuc asked the Ministry of Health to improve the quality of medical service for people using health insurance cards: “The Ministry of Health will direct hospitals to improve medical service, not to differentiate among people using and not using health insurance cards and reform administrative and payment procedures to support insurance holders. The health sector has to increase hospital monitoring with the involvement of the mass media.”
