Vietnam to take precautions when repatriating citizens
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Prime Minister has requested that from now until the Lunar New Year holiday, all repatriation flights to Vietnam be considered carefully by the Foreign Ministry and the Ministries of Health, Public Security, Defence, and Transport, and submitted to the PM for approval.
This request reflects concerns about fast-spreading new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Local People’s Committees must make sure quarantine facilities comply with current pandemic prevention measures.
The Ministries of Public Security and Defence must tighten immigration procedures at land and sea borders and cooperate with localities to impose tighter controls on illegal immigration. After the Lunar New Year holiday, the Ministry of Transport will start reopening commercial flights between Vietnam and other countries.
