Vietnam treasures relations with Poland

(VOVworld) - Vietnam values its time-honored friendship and cooperation with Poland, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh told Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo in Warsaw on Thursday.

She thanked Poland for giving Vietnam a preferential loan of 250 million EUR, and said she hopes the two countries soon will sign a framework agreement on financial cooperation as soon as possible.

Prime Minister Szydlo said she believes in the development of bilateral cooperation, especially with the Vietnam-EU free trade agreement about to become effective. On the basis of the two countries’ fine traditional friendship and as an active member of the EU, Poland will continue to support the Vietnam-EU comprehensive cooperation and partnership.

While meeting with Polish Deputy Marshal of the lower house Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska, Vice President Thinh praised Poland’s support for Vietnam in its struggle for national liberation and development. Ms. Thinh said she hopes Poland parliament will soon sign the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement and recognize Vietnam’s market economy status.

On Tuesday, Ms. Thinh met with the Vietnamese embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Poland. She informed them of Vietnam’s socio-economic development, stressing policies to restructure finance, the banking system, and public investment, government measures to support small and medium- sized enterprises, and policies encouraging investment in agriculture and rural areas.
