(VOVworld) – 5 groups and 10 individuals will receive the 2014 Vietnam Women’s Prize for their career achievements and for helping others escape poverty and create stable lives. The prizes will be presented next week at a celebration of the 84th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) and Vietnam Women’s Day on October 20th. The Vietnam Women’s Union will take this occasion to hold a singing contest of lullabies and folk songs in Bac Ninh and Bac Lieu province, where efforts are being made to preserve the cultural identities of Vietnam’s regions.

Other activities to mark the event will include a book fair at the Vietnam Women’s Museum from October 8th to 12th and an “Ao dai” (traditional Vietnamese long dress) show at the Temple of Literature next week.
