(Tuoitrenews) - Vietnamese-American photographer An My Le has just won a half a million dollar MacArthur Fellowship, also known as a “Genius Grant”, one of most valuable awards honoring creative work in the US. This year the award was given to 23 people from the fields of science, literature, music, fine arts, education, and film. An My Le received the award in recognition of her photographs, which "approach the subjects of war and landscape from new perspectives to create images that blur the boundaries between fact and fiction and are rich with layers of meaning”. She was born in Ho Chi Minh city in 1960 and is now living in New York city.
