(VOVworld) - Vietnamese author Can Tieu Hy received the Silver prize at the 10th International Manga Awards in Tokyo on Monday.

Hy, whose real name is Phan Cao Ha My, was honored for her debut work “Dia Nguc Mon” (Gateway to the Underworld). This is the second Vietnamese manga work to win a prize at the contest, following “Long Than Tuong” (Holy Dragon Imperator) by Nguyen Thanh Phong and Nguyen Khanh Duong.
14 of 296 entries submitted to this year’s contest were honored at the ceremony.
First held in 2007, the International Manga Awards have become an annual contest that draws hundreds of creators of illustrated stories from around the world.
