At the donation presentation ceremony, Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricech thanked the Vietnamese community for their support in fighting the coronavirus epidemic.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Jana Malacova said the gift is important because of face mask shortage in the Czech Republic and it exemplifies the good relationship between the two countries and peoples.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan praised the Vietnamese community’s joint efforts to help in the fight against COVID-19.

Tuan said: “The Czech government publicly acknowledged and appreciated the Vietnamese donation of food, face masks, and cash. Such donations have come from Vietnamese community all over the country.”

Vietnamese people in the European country have been sewing thousands of home-made masks and giving them to those in need. Vietnamese restaurants and food stores have offered free food and drinks to administrative agencies and frontliners in the battle against COVID-19.
