Here are some male UN peacekeepers' thoughts about Vietnamese policewomen:

“We need women like you, strong women, very professional women. So now just follow your dream. You are competent and intelligent.”

“Female police from Vietnam keep strong, keep faithful, motivated because you can do it. So the place of the women is where she wants to be.”

“It is an honor to know Vinh from Vietnamese police. As a police, she is very professional and committed to the work. As a person, she is very kind, gentle, and always helps others.”

Colonel Alptekin Ariantas, a Turkish national and Chief of the UN Peacekeeping Police in Juba, praised the Vietnamese female officers, emphasizing their excellent physical fitness, language proficiency, expertise, and survival skills in all conditions.

“I would like to highlight that all Vietnamese police here working with us, they are doing very good job. They have been with us for a very short period. But they have proved that they are very disciplined, hard-working, and they are selected for this very specific peacekeeping mission. I want to encourage all of you, female police to join the peacekeeping mission and contribute to the peace and security of the vulnerable people including women and children,” according to Colonel Ariantas.

Since October 2022, the Vietnamese Public Security Forces have, for the first time, deployed officers to UN peacekeeping missions in various locations, including South Sudan and the UNISFA mission in the Abyei region. These areas are known for their harsh climates, potential risks, and challenging living conditions for local communities.

The proactive, responsible, and dedicated participation of Vietnamese female public security officers in UN peacekeeping missions has helped spread the image of Vietnamese women in uniform, while also showcasing Vietnam’s capabilities and role in global peacekeeping efforts.
