Both sides praised the positive progress of bilateral ties, which will lay a foundation to further their relations across politics-diplomacy, trade-investment, development cooperation, national defence-security, education-training, and culture and tourism. Officials pledged to step up the comprehensive development of Vietnam-EU ties, towards the ratification and implementation of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), creating a new driving force for economic, trade and investment ties between Vietnam and the EU, as well as between Vietnam and Germany.
