(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam-Russia Economic Forum opens on Wednesday at the Moscow International Exhibition Center.

The forum, organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development, aims to exchange information about trade and investment opportunities, preferential policies of the two governments, and requirements on quality and procedures for goods exported to Russia.
At the forum, Vietnamese enterprises introduced agricultural, seafood, textiles, and handicrafts products to Russian partners.
Than Van Hung, Chairman of Visimix Corporation, which specializes in processing agricultural products for export, said: “Currently, we are exporting cashew nuts, pepper, and cinnamon to Russia. We consider Russia a strong potential market, so we want to be here to look at the market situation, meet Russian friends to increase the number of our customers, and consider their actual needs so we can provide more diverse products, particularly processed products”.
In the past 11 months, the two countries’ trade turnover totaled 3.2 billion USD, 27% above last year. Vietnam’s exports earned more than 2 billion USD, an increase of 33%.
