At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi on Thursday, Ms. Hang responded to unbiased comments in the 2022 Annual Human Rights Report of the US Department of State, saying that the report made some unbiased statements based on inaccurate information about the actual situation in Vietnam. Vietnam is always ready to have frank, open, and constructive discussions with the US on issues or differences in order to enhance understanding and contribute to the bilateral comprehensive partnership.

Answering a question about Vietnam's reaction to the plan of the AUKUS (the US, the UK, and Australia) to equip Australia with nuclear submarines, Ms. Hang said that peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world are common goals of all countries. Vietnam expects that countries will show their responsibility for this goal.

Regarding the news that Japan wants to establish a comprehensive partnership with ASEAN, Ms. Hang said that Vietnam appreciates the strong and substantive progress in the ASEAN-Japan relationship which benefits the common goal of peace, security, stability, and prosperity. Vietnam is willing to work with ASEAN countries and Japan to elevate bilateral ties, towards the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan relations this year (1973 - 2023).
