Last year the industry posted an export revenue of 28 billion USD, 1.7 billion USD less than the set target.
Le Tien Truong, General Director of Vietnam’s Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex), said the sector will focus on key markets like the US, the EU, and Japan.
“We target an ambitious growth rate of 7% by expanding foreign market shares, particularly in Europe, and better exploit the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union. We will try to maintain garment and textile export as 5% of Vietnam’s total exports to the US,” Truong noted.
