Vietnam’s implementation of Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration under review

(VOVWORLD) -The Chief of Mission of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam expressed her appreciation for Vietnam’s efforts in migration governance, including the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) and the publication of the Vietnam Migration Profile 2023 in October 2024.

Kendra Rinas made the remark at the conference reviewing the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Phan Thi Minh Giang, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s Consular Department, said the conference, that took place on International Migrants Day, is an opportunity to honor the contributions of migrants to development and to discuss solutions to promote their legal rights and safe and orderly migration.

The conference had three main sessions, focusing on the implementation of GCM in Vietnam, challenges to international migration management, and priorities for improving the implementation of GCM.
