Vietnam’s localities prolong school closure as coronavirus spreads
(VOVWORLD) - As of Friday evening, nearly 30 localities in Vietnam have extended school break due to the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee decided on Friday to allow pupils and students citywide to continue to be off school until April 5th and proposed the Ministry of Education and Training adjust the schedule for the 2019-2020 academic year and put off the national high-school examination.
Many universities and colleges in HCMC have extended school break until the end of this month to ensure safety for all students and educational workers and prevent the spread to the community.
At a meeting of National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Hanoi on Friday, Hanoi Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung said the capital city agreed with the proposal to allow students of all educational levels to continue staying home until March 29. High school students - 10th to 12th graders - in Hanoi will stay home until March 22. The municipal authorities will later convene a meeting to decide when to reopen schools.
