(VOVworld)- The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria hosted a banquet cerebrating its 70th National Day on Sunday with the participation of representatives from Algeria’s socio-political and diplomatic agencies.

In his address, Ambassador Vu The Hiep highlighted the significance of the events of September 2, 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, opening a historical turning-point for Vietnam’s revolution. Hiep praised the development of the traditional friendship and multi-faced cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria.

To mark the occasion, Algerian friends watched documentaries on Vietnam’s land and people, toured exhibitions, and learnt about two-way trade with Vietnam.
