(VOVWORLD) - Tens of thousands of fans packed Thong Nhat stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday to welcome the Vietnam U23 football team, who finished second at last month’s AFC U23 Championship and created an a football fever in Vietnam.

The coaches and young footballers shared stories about training, competing for Vietnam and their clubs, and their personal lives.
“I am very happy to meet them. I wish them happiness and a championship title next year,” said Nguyen Thanh Van, a student at Ho Chi Minh city’s University of Economics.
On this occasion, the municipal People’s Committee gave the team 110,000 USD.
