(VOVworld) – The 2nd National External Information Awards 2015 took place on Saturday in Hanoi. The event was held by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education and the Steering Committee for External Information Service. The Organizing Board received 737 entries of all journalistic forms. The works are presented in 11 languages: Vietnamese, English, French, Russian, Chinese, German, Spanish, Japanese, South Korean, Laos and Bulgarian. The authors are journalists, collaborators of the news agencies in Vietnam, overseas Vietnamese, experts, and international researchers.

The entries have much improved in their contents, covering politics, socio-economics, Vietnam’s culture, the life of overseas Vietnamese, and current affairs. They also featured the land, history, culture and people of Vietnam, achievements of the renewal process, the Party and State’s policies and guidelines, and Vietnam’s view on regional and global issues.
The organizing board granted prizes to 70 works of 5 categories: printed newspaper, online newspaper, radio, television, and press photo.
VOV wins the 1st award for a radio program called “For a peaceful life and development”. Dinh The Huynh, Standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, said: “Together with domestic information service, external information service has contributed significantly to maintaining a peaceful, stable environment for national development, enhancing Vietnam’s relations with other countries, boosting international integration, and attracting foreign resources. External information service introduces Vietnam’s land, people, culture, and history to the world as well as its achievements of the reform process over the past 30 years under the party’s leadership, and Vietnam’s stance and justice in defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity. External information service has also fostered the bonds of overseas Vietnamese with their homeland in national development and defense.”
Mr. Huynh said people working in the external information service should improve their profession and quality to fulfill their assigned tasks before the Party, state, and people, contributing to peace, stability, and active international ingeration.
