Weather forecasting to be modernized
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s weather forecasting in 2018 will be modernized, to keep abreast with developed countries’ level.

Deputy Director General of the National Center for Hydrometeorology Forecast Le Hong Phong made the remark at Friday conference to review the work in 2017 and orientations in 2018. Phong said next year, weather forecasts will elaborate more details relating to cities and wards throughout Vietnam, with close tracking and timely warnings on dangerous weather phenomena. The Hydrometeorology Development Strategy to 2020 will also be implemented, which focuses on modernizing and automating monitoring measurement, developing monitoring networks, and increasing data resources, he added.
