Laos’s Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith sent a message to and called to congratulate State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Monday. He said he believes the new leadership will help Vietnam achieve greater success.

In a congratulatory message to Vietnam's new Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Laos’s Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh promised to work with Vietnam to grow their bilateral relationship to benefit their peoples and achieve peace, stability, cooperation, and development.

Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message to President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Monday, saying that China attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations and stands ready to boost the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

The same day, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, in which he promised to boost win-win cooperation between Vietnam and China.

Cambodian PM Hun Sen sent messages to Mr. Phuc and Mr. Chinh and called the new President. He said he is sure the new Vietnamese President will work toward enhancing Vietnam’s position on the international stage.

Hun Sen pledged to work closely with the Vietnamese Prime Minister to deepen the relationship between the two countries, and expressed optimism that Vietnam and Cambodia can overcome the challenges posed by Covid-19 and achieve peace, stability, sustainable development, and prosperity.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his message to Mr. Phuc that he is confident that with mutual efforts the two countries will continue to develop their strategic partnership to benefit their peoples and consolidate security and stability in the Asia - Pacific region.

Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide, Italian President Sergio Matterella, and President of the Chamber of Deputies Roberto Fico sent similar congratulatory messages to the new leaders.
