At a press conference on Sunday, COP22 President Salaheddine Mezouar said the event is expected to work out principles for the implementation of the Paris agreement on climate change, which took effect on November 4 after being ratified by 100 countries covering over 55 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. The meeting is a significant event as it will develop specific actions from countries to deal with global warming. It is expected to reach consensus on the way developed countries can support developing countries in their efforts to transform to low-carbon economies.
