Yen Tu Spring Festival opens with grand rituals and largest-ever palanquin procession
(VOVWORLD) - The Yen Tu Spring Festival opened on Friday, the 10th day of the new lunar year, with rituals including drum beating, bell ringing, and praying for national peace and prosperity.

The highlight of the opening ceremony was the largest-ever palanquin procession, featuring 11 teams from various localities in Quang Ninh province.
"This year’s festival revives traditional rituals on presenting offerings to King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong. The offerings are local specialties," said Venerable Thich Dao Hien, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ninh.
The Yen Tu Spring Festival, which lasts for the first three months of the new lunar year, is the largest spring festival in Quang Ninh province.
Quang Ninh and several other localities are seeking UNESCO recognition of the Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son – Kiep Bac heritage complex as a world heritage site.
