(VOVworld) - The 10th National Radio Festival officially opens last night in Hanoi. Radio the Voice of Vietnam co-host the event with the Hanoi Radio and TV Station. VOV Director General Nguyen Dang Tien, Chair of the Festival’s Steering Committee beat the drum to open the festival.
263 works from 79 stations are participating in the competition, according to VOV Deputy Director General Vu Hai: “This year’s entries have been selected from the most outstanding works over the past year and the works are close to life. In the next few days, the jury board will select the best radio works. I hope that the festival of radio broadcasters will honor talented and passionate journalists during Vietnam’s construction and renewal process”.
Journalist Nguyen Xuan Long from Quang Ngai Radio and TV station has been in this job for 20 years. He said the biannual National Radio Festival provides opportunities for journalists to learn experiences and professional skills: “In recent years, Radio the Voice of Vietnam has also organized workshops on the sidelines of the festival. So radio journalists from local stations have a venue to exchange experiences and professional skills with their colleagues from the central radio station”.
