(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s national football team won 3-2 against the Philippines at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi Thursday evening in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.

Vietnam’s goals were scored by Tien Linh (2 goals) and Tuan Hai.
Vietnam have now earned 6 points and their World Cup dream has revived, as they are just one point behind second-place Indonesia in Group F.
The Vietnamese team will play their final match in Group F against Iraq at 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
Last night’s win marked an impressive debut by head coach Kim Sang Sik before the Vietnamese football fans. Kim’s team gained 10.38 points on the World Football Federation (FIFA) rankings and climbed two places to 113th in the world.
