(VOVworld) – Suicide bombings struck across Saudi Arabia cities, killing at least 4 security officers on Monday.

Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry said 4 people were killed and 5 others were wounded when a suicide bomber detonated his vest outside one of Islam’s holiest sites, the Prophet's Mosque in Medina city. Security forces tried to stop him at the parking but he blew himself up with an explosive belt. Another attacker detonated a bomb near the US consulate in Jeddah on the same day, killing himself and injuring 2 police officers. The bomber was identified as a foreigner living in Saudi Arabia and the explosion targeted Shiite worshippers and the US consulate general in Medina city.
