(VOVWORLD) - More than 300 delegates from 22 legislatures and other international representatives participated in the 30th Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) on Wednesday to discuss the role of Parliament in accelerating sustainable development after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chairman of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Vu Hai Ha led the Vietnamese delegation to attend the event.
The 30th APPF is focused on recovering balance, with a sustainable and human-centered approach to strengthening cooperation for a sustainable region. Thailand’s President of the National Assembly Chuan Leekpai, who chaired the event, urged APPF members to make stronger efforts to meet COVID-19 recovery and sustainable development goals.
Delegates also discussed promoting Parliamentary diplomacy for regional security and cyber security in the Asia-Pacific region, sustainable recovery post-COVID-19 for peace, security, and democracy; and economic and trade issues and regional cooperation in Asia-Pacific.
The APPF will continue in Bangkok until Friday.
