(VOVworld) - The Arab League (AL) says it plans to present a draft resolution on Palestine’s statehood to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), which also calls for the full Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967.

The decision came following an extraordinary meeting of Arab foreign ministers in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Saturday which was attended by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. AL General Secretary Nabil al-Arabi will seek international support for the draft resolution and submit it to the UNSC soon.
The Palestinians are pushing forward with the resolution, which calls for an end date for the Israeli regime’s occupation despite the US’ intense pressure on them to halt the action.
