(VOVworld) – The 11th Coordinating Conference on the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (SOC-COM) took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, with 48 representatives of specialized agencies and organizations.

Ambassador Nguyen Hoanh Nam led the Vietnamese delegation.

Addressing the opening ceremony, ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh called on ASEAN and relevant agencies to increase coordination in implementing plans of action set by the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC).

Participants discussed improved ways to mobilize resources and implement the ASCC master plan until 2025, which will give priority to certain areas.

They also agreed on the need for the involvement of all ASEAN agencies including those from the politics-security and economic communities.
