UK Brexit Secretary David Davis insists that discussions of any financial settlement needs to be part of talks on the future relationship. Barnier called on Britain to translate May’s oratory into concrete negotiating positions and to bring them to the table in Brussels.
On the Brussels side, officials have been adamant that all EU laws and treaty provisions will remain in force and that the UK will have to live up to them in order to continue to access the EU market.
