Vice Chairman of the city People's Committee Duong Tan Hien made the remark at the fourth Cai Rang culture and tourism festival on Saturday. There are 19 activities in the three-day festival, which aims to popularize the images, culture and people of the floating market, a national intangible relic site. Mr Hien called on Can Tho people to be more active in promoting local culture. He said: “Our citizens’ hospitality towards Vietnamese and foreign tourists is very important, so we have recently organized training classes for locals and English classes for children and people working in the tourism sector in order to satisfy visitors.”

Cai Rang floating market has long been a popular tourist attraction of Can Tho city and the Mekong Delta. Everyday, 300 to 500 boats visit the market, which is 6 km from Can Tho city center.
